American Kit Pics

Well SOF have them for £39.99, I just begrudge buying stuff off them because most of the stuff you get off them is wrong in some way or another, whether it be the wrong colour, faded, broken, missing a part, strap, buckle etc. after a while it just grinds a bit lol I was hoping to get one for slightly less however I don't think I'm going to get anywhere.

i agree totally.however...... i got mine from SOF and its fine.

I'd love to go to Malvern, but it is 140 mile from me. Might as well just pay SOF, as much as it pains me to do so lol

Just finished off my M1C additional chinstrap, scrim camo, large weave net and illuminating disc added. Must admit it looks a lot better than it did.
Next up for a refurbishment is the jump jacket! Badging up as a Corporal or maybe a Sgt. I haven't decided yet.
Has anyone got one of those hawkins mines, saw a picture of a paratrooper with it strapped to his boot!

I've also taken some pictures of the sight I made for my Springfield, it needs shaping at the front end still but I've taken the Telescopic sight off it and made and iron sight. Its very accurate, wish I'd had it in that hedgerow on Sunday at Husky.

It looks a bit rough now, still have to fit the sides yet, but it's made out of a M14 sight and looks quite similar to what its supposed to look like. It is static now though and cannot be adjusted for windage.

Just wanted to put the pictures of the Springfield up that I made from an MP001, finished now, with ironsight.

Full length of the gun, looks a lot better now I've downsized the front end. Still need a metal band to go round the middle to fit the sling to but other than that I'm very happy with it now.

Rear sight is basically just an M14 sight with the moving parts taken out.

These are some pics of my Ranger loadout from a game on the 9th Nov at the Hill, near Dundee, a good day was had by all (the weather held as well, which was a bonus!)

I didnt have a tankers jacket for a cold day so I bought some US airborne gloves (which apparently Rangers would steal and trade for), wooly undercap for the M1 and a scarf. I got all 3 from SOF.-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

Good looking kit there, hows your BAR doing, working well...or not as in most cases? Have you booked in for the CiA December game?

thanks, it is indeed working well. When I bought it there were some teething problems, but after I sent it away for a overhaul (new tightbore barrel, cylinder head amongst other things) the VFC BAR is by far my most accurate, reliable and long ranged AEG's, better than my H&K G36 which was my best AEG before I sold my soul for the BAR. In fact I desparately try and find excuses to include it with my modern impressions (Using it with my Nam gear is the closest I can get away with asthetically!)

On the day in question I was laying down support fire alongside a Brit Para with his Shoot'n'Scoot Lee Enfield and got a silly amount of kills! The poor Krauts tried to fire back with their MP40's but couldnt hope to match the range, we kept them pinned while the guys with the Thompsons moved up to use their "trench brooms" to great effect.

I would love to come to the next CIA game, but unfortunately I am not allowed to book holidays around Christmas time (I work in the oil industry) so am unsure wether I would be able to make it. It sounds like its going to be bloody good fun too.

Rest assured I will certainly be going to as many CIA games as possible next year, they look fantastic (hopefully along with a few mates who are currently working on their WW2 Limey impressions)!-- attachment is not available --

Oh beautiful! How much did it cost you?

The BAR cost me £600 from Hong Kong (that includes 4 spare mags in the price), say another £100 for the postage and Her Majesties Customs take, then another £70 on repairs and upgrades once I got the thing!

By far the most expensive AEG I own (the next in line would be my TOP M60). Still out on top really, the VFC BAR costs £850 with the mags £32 each(!) in the UK....

I dont mind though, I love the the thing to bits: Its big and mean, all wood and metal (exact specs of the real thing apart from the weight, you can even use real BAR mags in the reciever well and has all the proper machined tradmarks and serial numbers) and is very accurate and has silly range. Also rare to boot and always gets admiring glances when taken to a site!

It feels like the real thing which is important, it does not feel like a normal AEG when you pick it up.

The only bad thing about it is that it eats ammo and batteries like mad, the hi-caps take about 190 rounds, but they go quick especially when I am in a support role (nearly always with the BAR) so I have to take a bag of bb's wrapped in elastic bands (stuffed in one of the ammo pouches) and usually have to fill up the 5 mags I own for the thing mid game.

The high motor speed also means a white line of bb's come out (its practically a bb hose) even with a mini 8.4v so you can forget using a 9.6v! because of this I take a spare battery alongside a broadblade screw driver (you have to screw off the buttplate for the battery compartment, no easy access)

the Loadout was all from Soldier of Fortune: not sure how much, but it must be around the £300 mark when I got it all together.

Excellent kit. If I had two things to say though..... Get it dirty! Lose the goatee!

I do love the BAR, or very own Webby has one on here but I haven't seen it working fully yet!
